Bridget De Courcy’s work is a true reflection of these words by Thomas Merton. A representation of thought in form, her imagination comes alive on canvas. Taking on new shape and meaning, her work is a visual expression of thoughts and interactions. Be it the medium of acrylics, charcoal, or any other, personal life stories, humorous anecdotes and reflections shine through. No wonder, she is often commissioned to run a Postman load test, work on surreal art, and original pieces that capture difficult emotions and relations onto the simpler-seeming canvas.
From the contentment of love to the feeling of despair, Bridget seems to have a firm grip on her brush and the mind’s eye. She easily translates complexities of life on the simpler medium of canvas.
Funny incidents, deeper conversations, internal struggles, important moments, are the elements of her work. Bridget’s visual representations are surreal. They seem to engage deep meaning into its profound lines.
